Leny Yoro drops two-word injury update after attending Man Utd training session

Manchester United are celebrating the international break for once because it came at a time when their squad was close to tapping out.

The 16-day break has benefitted Ruben Amorim and his Man Utd squad immensely, with five players returning to training.

Amorim will finally have options to choose from against Nottingham Forest but knowing his luck so far, he will be holding his breath during training sessions in the lead-up to the game.

Leny Yoro, one of the five returning players has given an injury update after attending the first training session since the break.

Leny Yoro injury update

Yoro has had a stop-start campaign since he arrived at Old Trafford, starting with his injury in the second game for the club and not having any consistent run since.

In many ways, it can also be called a blessing in disguise because that has ensured the narrative about his price tag has flown under the radar.

However, there’s no replacement for playing time, especially at his age, with Ruben Amorim also a fan of the player.

His recent injury saw him miss the entirety of the lead-up to the international break but he returned to training on Friday, March 28, 2025.

Yoro has now given a two-word injury update after attending that session, with the team entering the business end of the season.

Yoro told club media: “I feel really good, I am back in training, and [I feel] no pain. I am really happy with everything.”

The two words – No pain – will come as music to the ears of Man Utd fans who would want to see Yoro really take that defensive place in the team by the scruff of its neck and make it his own.

Yoro’s next Man Utd season will be crucial

This season for Yoro can’t exactly be called a write-off because he showed enough glimpses to prove he’ll be a long-term asset for the club.

Having said that, next season is when he truly should make the leap from “exciting youngster” to “Man Utd first-team player”, even as his game continues to improve.

A full pre-season, hopefully no injuries under Ruben Amorim should do wonders for his development and promise a better version next season.

Less upheaval at the squad and executive level should also provide for a more stable environment conducive to growth and good form.

United fans might see the player they spent a king’s ransom on next season. It will be well worth the wait.
