Heartfelt Instagram tribute paid to Ryan Yates and Nottingham Forest after FA Cup win over…

Nottingham Forest have an FA Cup semi-final to look forward to after beating Brighton on penalties in Saturday’s last-eight clash.

Forest stood firm to keep a clean sheet after 120 minutes against the Seagulls and then took it 4-3 during the shootout.

The Reds were indebted to Matz Sels, with the goalkeeper saving two of the Brighton spot-kicks, whilst Ryan Yates scored the decisive final penalty.

Forest can now look forward to today’s draw for the last four and the Reds will be eagerly anticipating their opposition for the semi-final, which will take place later this month.

Daughter of Nigel Doughty pays emotional tribute after Forest win

When it comes to Forest, Doughty bled the red and white of the football club and oversaw things as the club’s owner for many years.

The owner tragically passed away in 2012 and the club have since named the training ground after the great man, with his legacy living on at the City Ground.

Doughty would love this Forest team after the win over Brighton an emotional tribute was paid by his daughter, Helena on social media.

She posted: Days off giving birth to my first child. I think about my dad and the seeds he sowed for this club.

Forest must believe they can win the FA Cup this season

This does feel like Forest’s time. If the semi-final ends up being Forest against Crystal Palace, both clubs would see it as a huge opportunity.

However, at this stage of the competition, anything can happen and the Reds must stay grounded and truly believe that the silverware can be claimed.

Forest need to make sure they can keep as many top players as fit as possible for the huge run-in and Espirito Santo will hope for no more injuries.

The Reds were exceptional against Brighton and although the 2024/25 campaign will already be fondly remembered by fans, it now has the potential to be truly special.
