Newcastle United star Lewis Hall has named his favourite footballer growing up and he’s still playing in the Premier League today.
Lewis Hall has enjoyed a fantastic season at Newcastle United, even if an unfortunately timed injury means it has been cut short.
After spending last season on loan at St. James’ Park from Chelsea and biding his time to get into the team, Hall has firmly established himself as Eddie Howe’s first-choice left-back this season.
With tenacious defending, tireless running up and down the flanks and a wicked delivery, Hall has developed into an excellent player who has now represented England.
As a result, it’s hardly surprising that Hall has named Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne as the player he loved watching growing up.

Lewis Hall says Kevin De Bruyne was his favourite player growing up
Speaking in an interview on Uncut on the Premier League’s official YouTube channel – which left him shocked about an Alexander Isak EAFC trait – Hall asked who his favourite player was as a kid.
He replied: “When I was 9 or 10, I never paid attention too much to individual players. I just loved watching football.
“But I think when I started to become more addicted to the game and I was training regularly, I used to always love watching De Bruyne.

“I just loved the way he created chances and I feel like he could do everything in terms of in possession. He works really hard out of possession as well.
“The numbers he got from midfield was unbelievable.”
Lewis Hall names the Newcastle player he has a ‘good connection’ with
Hall spent the interview discussing his Newcastle teammates and guessing which of them would have certain ‘playing styles’ on the EAFC video game.
One such style was the ‘long ball’ trait and Hall then shared how valuable it is for wide players to have teammates who can ping the ball out to them with ease.
This is when centre-back Fabian Schar was picked out for praise, with Hall saying the pair have a ‘good connection.’
He added: “For me and anyone who plays out wide, whether your full-back or winger, I think it helps when you know the people in the middle of the pitch are going to be able to find you.
“No matter where you are on the pitch.
“I think Fabby [Schar] and me, we have a good connection sometimes.
“He has a good long-ball on him, so I know that if I make the run the ball a lot of the time is going to come to me.
“It helps on the pitch when you have players like that.”
