Report: What Everton are now planning to do after Sunderland send £40m transfer demand for…

Everton’s squad is set to undergo major surgery in the summer.

Finally, the PSR restrictions are set to be lifted at the end of the financial year, so David Moyes will be given substantial cash to spend.

Moyes is already eyeing Tom Fellows ahead of the window after his sensational season in the Championship.

Fellows is the joint top assister in the second tier, having laid on 10, such is why Everton tried to sign him in January.

The Toffees are also interested in Sunderland’s Chris Rigg after scouting him earlier this month and now, they’ve received a clear transfer demand from the Black Cats.

Everton told they’ll need to pay £40m to sign Chris Rigg

Sunderland’s teenage whiz Chris Rigg is widely considered as one of the best teenage talents in England.

Rigg has been attracting interest from a number of clubs in the Premier League, including Manchester United, Liverpool and West Ham.

So it’ll be a tough task for Everton to land his signature and according to Alan Nixon’s Patreon, they’ll have to fork out £40m.

Moyes is really keen on Rigg but won’t sign off on a £40m deal as he values the England youth international around the £10m mark.

So, as it stands, it seems the Sunderland wonderkid will be staying put at the Stadium of Light unless they significantly reduce his price tag.

Championship will be at forefront of recruitment this summer

Everton are expected to fish in the Championship this summer as Moyes is a big fan of recruiting from the division.

Speaking earlier this year, the Scotsman said: “I know we’re in a world where we can pick players from any continent to play in the Premier League.

“A long time ago, it wasn’t as easy and maybe people didn’t look as far. We continue to look closer to home, which is the Championship. Last year, the Championship produced some incredible players like (Morgan) Rogers, (Adam) Wharton, (Jaden) Philogene possibly.”

Clearly, Everton are following Moyes’ transfer model as they’ve shown an interest in Fellows, Rigg, and Maxime Esteve in recent weeks.

The Toffees will have to fork out £30m to sign Esteve.
