Trent Alexander-Arnold might remain at Liverpool over the summer - despite his contract running out
Ex-Reds ace Stephen Warnock has dropped a hint that Trent Alexander-Arnold might just stick around. Warnock isn't convinced his rumoured move to Real Madrid is set in stone.

And he reckons the Liverpudlian could be swayed to pen a fresh deal if the Reds' chiefs show him the money and put him up there with the squad's top earners.
Speaking about the other Liverpool stars on the brink of leaving, Warnock said on BBC Football Focus: "I still think there's an opportunity where he could stay. I think there's still that element where he's almost going, 'If you want me, you're going to have to pay for me'.
"Because if you think of Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah, their salaries are astronomical at the moment. Because Trent is a local lad, he won't be on the type of money that they are on and he will be thinking, 'Pay me what they're getting paid'," reports the Mirror.

"And it might be a case of just closing that gap and (they are) able to make that happen.
"But the other side of it is, what Liverpool fans are getting very frustrated by, is that he's potentially going to leave on a free transfer.
"This is a player that you got on a free transfer (from the club's academy) who you haven't paid a penny for and has given you eight incredible years at the club."

Several insiders have revealed that Alexander-Arnold's current Liverpool contract is worth roughly £9m per season, with Salah raking in twice that amount and club captain Van Dijk pocketing just over £11m.

The 26-year-old England star has been with Liverpool since he was a nipper of six.
It's still up in the air whether Van Dijk or Salah will pen new contracts at the club, even though they're on the brink of bagging a second Premier League title under Arne Slot's maiden managerial season.
