Addressing a cabinet meeting on Sunday, President Pezeshkian said Iran has sent a reply to the letter from his US counterpart via Oman.
He noted that Iran has dismissed direct talks with the US in the reply, adding, “However, as the Islamic Republic had never blocked the paths of indirect negotiations before, this letter (Iran’s reply) has also mentioned that the road to indirect negotiation is left open and has emphasized that Iran has never avoided negotiations.”
Pezeshkian said the only trouble in the course of interaction has been lack of commitment on part of the US, stressing that the mistakes need to be made up for and trust must be rebuilt.
“This will be the manner of Americans that would determine the continuity of the course of negotiations,” the president added.
He further pointed to the developments in Palestine and Lebanon, stressing the need for the cessation of the Zionist regime’s heinous atrocities.
The president lashed out at the Israeli regime for violating a ceasefire deal with Lebanon and bombing the innocent people.
Pezeshkian finally prayed to God for closer unity and solidarity among the Muslim nations in the face of inhumane actions perpetrated by the Israeli regime.
