Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has named his starting XI to face Preston North End in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Ollie Watkins and John McGinn are both named on the bench as Jacob Ramsey, Morgan Rogers, Marco Asensio and Marcus Rashford are all named in attack.

From back to front, Emi Martinez starts in goal behind a defence of Matty Cash, Ezri Konsa, Tyrone Mings and Lucas Digne.

Boubacar Kamara and Youri Tielemans operate in the double pivot as Ramsey plays off the left and Rogers likely on the right with Asensio playing behind Rashford.

Both Preston and Villa have progressed from three of the six previous FA Cup ties between the sides, with this the first meeting since a 1-0 win for Villa in January 1967.

Villa have won each of their last four FA Cup quarter-final matches, with this their first since a 2-0 win against West Bromwich Albion in 2014-15.

Villa starting XI: Martinez, Cash, Konsa, Mings, Digne, Kamara, Tielemans, Rogers, Asensio, Ramsey, Rashford.

Subs: Olsen, Bogarde, Maatsen, Garcia, Torres, Onana, Malen, Watkins, McGinn.

Preston starting XI: Cornell, Storey, Gibson, Hughes, Brady, Whiteman, Thordarson, Meghoma, Frokjaer, Keane, Riis.

Subs: Stowell, Lindsay, Bauer, Pasiek, Tarry, Carroll, T. Mawene, Evans, Osmajic.
