Call Terry Pegula any thing you want, but don't call him cheap.
Pegula, the owner of the Buffalo Bills, wants to give the Bills Mafia a Super Bowl championship. They have come close, but they have not reached the big game since the days of Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas and Bruce Smith.
Now, he gave his general manager Brandon Beane an edict. He said re-sign as many veterans as possible to long-term extensions which will keep them in the stable and keep them happy.
Beane has done just that. Now, they are hoping the Bills will get over the hump and find a way to win in Kansas City in January and get to the Super Bowl.
Beane has extended the contracts of cornerback Christian Bedford, quarterback Josh Allen, defensive end Gregory Rousseau, linebacker Terrel Bernard and wide receiver Khalil Shakir.
The most impressive part of the extensions were they were all for players Beane drafted. Buffalo drafts very well under Beane and the players perform and get the extensions they deserve.
Allen, the reigning NFL Most Valuable Player, was due a big raise. He has led the Bills offense and was the last of the upper echelon quarterbacks to get paid. He watched Joe Burrow, Tua Tagovailoa and even Trevor Lawrence get healthy extensions before he did.
He still went out and performed above his contract.
Allen signed a six-year extension worth $330 million.

On Saturday, Benford got his extension. He signed a four-year extension worth $76 million.
Now, it is time for Beane to strategize some more … and to play Trader Jack to fill in some of the gaping holes the Bills have at the corners, the edge and on the interior defensive line. The Bills have 10 draft picks and they will probably look to trade up to grab a better player in the early rounds of the draft.
