Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is maintaining pressure on Hamas despite agreeing to a ceasefire proposal from mediators in Egypt and Qatar. Netanyahu stated that the militant group's leaders can leave the Gaza Strip only if they agree to lay down their arms. Hamas has shown some willingness to relinquish control over the territory.Meanwhile, an Israeli airstrike on Sunday hit a house and a tent sheltering displaced people, killing at least eight, including five children, as Palestinians marked the first day of Eid al-Fitr.
