Tottenham have started the hunt for a new manager for next season
Tottenham Hotspur are struggling to pick positive results this season. The Lilywhites sit in the bottom half of the Premier League and are not able to muster up a run of good results. Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou has come under tremendous pressure at the club due to this and is on the verge of losing his job this summer.
It has been a season to forget for the Spurs fans. With the league already being a write-off and Ange’s men not competing in any domestic tournaments, there is not much to be happy about. However, the North London club are still fighting hard in the Europa League. Spurs have reached the quarter-finals of the competition and will be facing Eintracht Frankfurt in April for a place in the semis.
Ange Postecoglou is on the verge of losing his job at Tottenham
One can say that Spurs should just edge the tie, but with the players out-of-form and injuries ravishing in the squad, it looks like Ange’s men will have to work hard for a result. It is also a must-win tie for Ange Postecoglou if he wants to keep his job for next season and be at the helm at N17.
Tottenham are eyeing Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is said to be on the verge of sacking Ange Postecoglou. With the club languishing outside the top 10 in the league and players just not performing, it looks like the club’s hierarchy has started looking for replacements. There is a growing feeling around North London that Ange is on his last leg to save his job and somehow end the season on a high.
Spurs are linked with several managers in recent weeks. One such manager who has a genuine chance of becoming the next Tottenham manager is Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola. According to Fabrizio Romano on GIVEMESPORT, Daniel Levy wants to bring in the Cherries manager to replace Ange Postecoglou before the start of next season.
Daniel Levy wants Andoni Iraola at Spurs
There are other managers that Spurs are considering as well. Earlier last week, GMS had also confirmed that the Lilywhites had Fulham boss Marco Silva on their shortlist of managers that might eventually replace Ange. But it is also reported that Spurs would have to pay £8 million to sign the Fulham boss.
Iraola releases statement regarding future
Andoni Iraola has done a remarkable job at Bournemouth since taking over in 2023. The Spanish manager has guided the Cherries to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, where they are set to face the formidable challenge of Manchester City. In the Premier League, Iraola’s impact has been just as impressive. His side sits only five points behind fourth-placed Chelsea, keeping hopes of European qualification very much alive. At 43, he has quickly built a reputation as one of the brightest young managers in English football.
Talking in his press conference ahead of his side’s crucial game against Man City, the Spaniard addressed the rumours. Iraola said (as transcribed by ESPN),
“I want to do my job the best I can. I don’t know how far we can go, where we will finish. I want to do my job the best I can. If I don’t do the job very well, they will find someone else. I’m really happy here.”
It seems like Iraola does not want to get distracted before the quarterfinal, and rightly so. The Spaniard will create history if his side manages to beat Man City on Sunday and reach the semifinals of the FA Cup. Talks about his future will certainly not help him and his side focus on the big game and would rather be a major distraction.

The Tottenham Hotspur will be closely watching the progress Andoni Iraola is making at the Cherries, and who knows? The 43-year-old might just make a move to North London and start a new era at N17.
