Chelsea could try to sign Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike when the transfer window opens this summer.
The Blues have been heavily linked with Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap, with it being thought that Delap is intrigued by the project at Chelsea right now.
However, there is no guarantee that the club go on to buy him amid interest in other strikers.
The above includes Ekitike, though signing the 22-year-old will not be a straightforward task for Chelsea.

Chelsea could make £50m bid for Hugo Ekitike
This is not the first time that Ekitike has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
In January 2022, it was claimed that Chelsea were interested in signing Ekitike and made contact over a potential deal.
Nothing was finalised but this could be the year where they finally land the Frenchman. According to CaughtOffside, the Blues are one of several Premier League sides who are keen on Ekitike and could make a €60m (£51m) offer for him.
Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle United and West Ham United are the other English clubs who are reported to be interested in signing Ekitike.

Ekitike could be a good alternative if Chelsea choose to move away from Delap, but he is just one of the other options that they are believed to be considering.
It is thought that Chelsea are also eyeing Viktor Gyokeres ahead of the summer transfer window.

Hugo Ekitike’s stats this season
Ekitike got a dream move to Paris Saint-Germain back in 2022, joining from Reims. However, things did not work out for the France U21 international at the Parc des Princes.
Ekitike scored just four goals in 33 appearances for PSG before signing for Eintracht Frankfurt, where he is now thriving.
This season, the former PSG player has netted 19 times in 39 outings, hence all of the interest in him right now.
Hugo Ekitike’s 2024/25 stats Appearances Goals Assists
Bundesliga 26 13 4
Europa League 10 3 3
DFB-Pokal 3 3 1
Total 39 19 8
Ekitike does not look to be Chelsea’s priority presently. But if the Blues fail to sign Delap, for example, then it would not be a surprise if they turned to him.
