Manila: The Philippines has officially announced that Eid Al Fitr will be observed on Monday, March 31, 2025, following the confirmed sighting of the Shawwal crescent moon on Sunday.

The Bangsamoro Grand Mufti, Sheikh Abdulrauf A. Guialani, made the official declaration, stating that the moon-sighting process was conducted in accordance with established procedures.

"This result has been properly conducted by the official Moon Sighting Team, who had been gathered to agreed-upon strategic locations and has been proactively led by the Bangsamoro Mufti, Sheikh Abdulrauf A. Guialani," the Bangsamoro Darul-Ifta' BARMM announced via social media.

In line with the observance, Malacañang has declared Tuesday, April 1, 2025, a regular holiday across the country.

The proclamation, issued by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., ensures that Filipinos can fully partake in the celebrations of Eid'l Fitr, marking the end of Ramadan.
