Marcus Rashford admits he is finally enjoying his football at Aston Villa after scoring his first couple of goals for the club against Preston in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

The Manchester United loanee broke the deadlock at Deepdale in the 59th minute before bagging a second from the penalty spot shortly after, doubling both his and Villa’s tally.

Jacob Ramsey then added a third in the 71st minute to seal the victory.

Villa will face Crystal Palace in the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley, while Nottingham Forest will take on either Bournemouth or Manchester City.

Per 90 minutes this season, Rashford has created more chances, registered more assists, made more touches, taken more shots, and played more passes into the box at Villa than he did at Manchester United.

"It's a great feeling. I feel like I've been getting fitter and playing better football since I've been here,” Rashford told the BBC. "It's always nice for a forward to get a goal, so hopefully, it continues.

"We have to take it one game at a time, give 100 percent on the pitch, and see where it takes us. We're very ambitious. We want to go deep in the competitions and try and get back into the top four."

He added: "Step by step. I think I can still get fitter. I missed a lot of football before joining up with them. My body feels good, and I'm enjoying my football for now."
