Alexander Isak has already responded to Liverpool & Arsenal interest as Newcastle United stance …

Newcastle United have made their stance on Alexander Isak's future very clear amid interest from Arsenal and Liverpool.

It’s tiresome already, and the summer transfer window isn’t even open yet!

The future of Newcastle United star Alexander Isak has been heavily debated in the national media for a while now, but it has increased tenfold in the last fortnight.

Can people not just let Newcastle enjoy themselves?! Since Isak scored the winner for Newcastle in the Carabao Cup final versus Liverpool - a win that ended their 70-year wait for a domestic trophy - Isak’s future has been top of the agenda, particularly on a certain radio show.

Arsenal were linked first, now it’s Liverpool. So, let’s set the record straight... if a club wants to prize Isak away from St James’ Park, then it is going to take an astronomical amount of money. And even then, that might not be enough!

Newcastle United CEO Darren Eales delivers clear stance on Alexander Isak’s future

Speaking to journalists earlier this month, Newcastle United CEO Darren Eales suggested that talks over a new contract will take place with Isak this summer.

The Sweden international is still contracted to the Magpies for another three years, which puts them in an extremely strong position when it comes to potential negotiations.

But thinking of the player. The 25-year-old deserves a new deal having established himself as one of the best strikers in Europe since joining for a club-record £63m from Real Sociedad in August 2022.

“We’re going to be clear – he has multi-years left,” said Eales. “We will have the discussions in terms of a new deal, just like we did with Joelinton, Bruno (Guimaraes) or Anthony Gordon. That’s something that we will approach in the summer.

“The reality is that all of our players are under long-term deals. They’re committed to the club. So, from that perspective, we’re not looking to move any player on. We have no intention at all of those players being moved on.”

Newcastle United are under no pressure to sell

Last summer, Newcastle were forced to sell Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh to comply with Premier League Profitability and Sustainability Rules (PSR). They also offloaded Miguel Almiron to Atlanta United and Lloyd Kelly to Juventus in January.

That is understood to have put Newcastle on a strong financial footing, meaning they are under no pressure to sell any of their star names.

Eales added: “We're in a position now, where because we were able to move a couple of players in January that weren't really impacting on minutes on the pitch, we’ve got that wish and desire to keep our key players. They’re all under long-term contracts.

“We're not under the gun or anything like that. We've got an ownership that is ambitious and wants the best for the club. So, from that perspective, it'd be crazy for us to consider it (selling stars).”

Alexander Isak relaxed about his Newcastle United future

Isak was quizzed by the Swedish media about his future when on international duty last week. And the striker gave a typically relaxed response.

"There’s not much to say, really," the former Borussia Dortmund striker told Fotbollskanalen, via Sky Sports News. "I’ve commented on my situation and my security in Newcastle several times. I’ve described how much I love the city and the club, and how much I like it there.

"As usual. I don’t think about the future. I just want to perform for Newcastle. Now we won the cup, I want to finish strong and get a Champions League. game That’s all I am focused on.”
