Erling Haaland had an incredible start to the 2024-25 season, even by his own very high standards, but he cooled off considerably and — unsurprisingly — so has his club.
Haaland scored a goal within 18 minutes of his Premier League season debut, as Man City won at Chelsea, and the goals kept on coming for the 24-year-old Norwegian.

In Week 2 he scored a hat trick against Ipswich, then grabbed another hat trick against West Ham in Week 3 to take his tally to seven goals in three games to kick off the new campaign. Week 4? It took 20 minutes for him to score versus Brentford. Week 5? Less time. My word.

The 24-year-old Norwegian’s Premier League Golden Boot tally sits at two and he was a heavy favorite to make it three. But he hit another Premier League slump in December, and Mohamed Salah passed him to hold the league-leading haul.
Haaland has 84 Premier League goals in 94 league appearances, as he’s now fewer than 20 goals away from hitting 100 in the English top flight with 10 games of the season to go. It would take him breaking his own Premier League record for goals in a season to reach the century mark, but are you willing to guarantee he won’t do it during Pep Guardiola’s ninth year in charge of City?
