Man City handed major Erling Haaland injury scare

Erling Haaland was forced off injured in Manchester City's FA Cup tie with Bournemouth

Erling Haaland limped off against Bournemouth to give Manchester City another injury headache.

It had been an eventful afternoon for the No.9 as he missed a penalty and two other excellent chances in the first half to miss the chance to give the visitors the lead. Instead, Evanilson took advantage of more poor defending from the Blues to put Bournemouth on course for an FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.

However, Haaland scored at the start of the second half to equalise and City were well in the game when he suffered a problem to his knee and asked to come off.

After coming back onto the pitch to try and continue, he instantly realised he could not and was replaced.

Omar Marmoush came off the bench and made an instant impact, giving Nico O'Reilly his second assist in 20 minutes as his shot squirmed through Kepa Arrizabalaga. City will hope the injury to Haaland is not serious though as they look to finish the season strongly.

Haaland has scored 28 goals in all competitions for City this season.

The Blues have a quick turnaround following the cup tie with a home game against Leicester City coming up on Wednesday.

That contest is followed by the Manchester derby at Old Trafford on Sunday. City were beaten 2-1 by Manchester United in the reverse fixture after conceding two late goals.

Guardiola has seen plenty of City injuries this season. Manu Akanji, Nathan Ake, Oscar Bobb, John Stones and Rodri currently remain sidelined.
