Nuno makes very worrying claim about £25m Nottingham Forest star, fans will be anxious

Nottingham Forest are looking forward to an FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City but on Tuesday night, Manchester United arrive on Trentside.

The Reds defeated Brighton 4-3 on penalties on Saturday night to spark wild celebrations and ensure another Wembley date was in the bag.

Matz Sels and Ryan Yates were the heroes of the hour, with the Seagulls dumped out of the competition by the team who thrashed them 7-0 earlier this season.

Tuesday means a quick turnaround for Forest and after playing 120 minutes at the AMEX Stadium, some players might be struggling.

After last night’s game, Nuno Espirito Santo delivered an update on one player that will leave Forest supporters very anxious indeed.

Nuno Espirito Santo delivers update on Morgan Gibbs-White

In the second half of the contest, there was a concern involving Gibbs-White as he slid in and clattered into the post.

The 25-year-old has been playing in his usual number 10 position and came inches from poking Forest into the lead after good work from Callum Hudson-Odoi.

However, in smashing into the post, Espirito Santo has admitted reservations over his availability on Tuesday night.

He told the press after the game: “We are going to assess him. He had a big contact against the post. His leg was not OK and he was struggling.

“In the final minutes, you saw we were suffering. We were on the ropes, so we decided to turn to Morato to see if we could hold on for penalties.”

After not playing for England at Wembley against Albania or Latvia, Gibbs-White will be desperate to get a game there for Forest.

As a result, the player will be hoping and praying that he can be involved against United on Tuesday as Forest hunt down the Champions League places.

Gibbs-White is so important to the way in which Forest play and it would be a serious blow if he wasn’t available to play United.

The Reds are entering a pivotal period of fixtures and the challenge is to keep picking up points and winning matches with a Champions League place on the line.

Hopefully, there is a bit of mind games from Espirito Santo with this claim about Gibbs-White and the player who supported United as a boy will want to plot their downfall on Tuesday.
