One of Arsenal’s summer targets, Joan Garcia has a release clause of just £21.4 million in his current contract with Espanyol.
Joan Garcia to Arsenal this summer?
Arsenal are reportedly interested in Espanyol’s stopper Joan Garcia. They are trying to sign him in this summer transfer window. Although, David Raya is their number 1 goalkeeper. Now they have eyes on Garcia in the next window.
The 23-year-old shot-stopper is on list of top European clubs. He is having a good campaign for Espanyol in La Liga. As per reports, he is also open to move to England. The north London side tried to bring him in last summer but couldn’t. However, they will go again this summer.
Raya initially came on loan from Brentford. Then he was signed on a permanent basis in June 2024. He has been outstanding for his club since. He is one of the standout performers for Mikel Arteta.
Aaron Ramsdale had to leave the Gunners, as the Spaniard keeper became the first choice. Later, Aaron was signed by Southampton.
A new star between the sticks for Arteta?
Arsenal will be looking to add some new players into the squad this time. With the arrival of new sporting director Andrea Berta, he will look to have an immediate impact on the club with new signings.

The Gunners have held talks with Joan’s agents in December as per reports. In spite of Raya’s great form, Arteta is planning to bring in a new man for the job.
Bournemouth’s Neto also joined on loan last summer. Although, he has played just one game since arriving. He is expected to return to his former side in June.
The north London side also have some young goalkeeping talents in Jack Porter and Tommy Setford. At just 16, Jack made his senior debut in the Carabao Cup. While Tommy came from Ajax last year.
