Keep Skeptical Raptor writing about anti-vaccine pseudoscience

I need to ask for your help to keep the Skeptical Raptor website alive and healthy. Like your local PBS station (which will probably have to do more given the current situation in Washington), I need to raise funds for everything, including maintaining the website, paying for various services that are necessary to run in the background, buying subscriptions and individual paywalled articles, and paying for a server and host for this website.

This does not include my full-time job in reviewing science and then writing and posting new articles. I do that for fun.

I have unforeseen expenses like my trusty MacBook Pro of seven years, deciding to stop working. I had to replace it to keep going, and some of you helped me out to purchase a new one.

Although I love writing about vaccines, pseudoscience, and whether vaccines cause autism (it doesn’t, in case you were wondering), it’s grown from its humble roots as a small hobby to a massive undertaking. And this is where I need to cyberbeg (is that a word?) for your help.

There are three easy ways to support me.

GoFundMe

This is for a one-time contribution. Give whatever makes you feel comfortable, but it goes to helping me continue this website.

Patreon

You can help by subscribing to my Patreon. The benefit of it is that you get informed of new content that is in an easy-to-read format. If you do choose to subscribe, please sign up from a browser and not the app. Apple and Google take 30% (yes, 30%) from subscription fees. If only I had invented the app store!

Amazon

I know we should hate Amazon, but it helps me out. This method is completely passive, it won’t cost you a single penny. When you purchase something from Amazon, I receive a small commission from the Amazon Associates program.

Finally, comment and share

You can also help by commenting and sharing my articles. Google’s algorithms love that.

Thanks for your help!

One last thing

The Skeptical Raptor could be a feathered dinosaur from the Cretaceous or a feathered avian dinosaur from the Holocene. After 12 years of writing here, I haven’t decided yet which one.

Michael Simpson

Lifetime lover of science, especially biomedical research. Spent years in academics, business development, research, and traveling the world shilling for Big Pharma. I love sports, mostly college basketball and football, hockey, and baseball. I enjoy great food and intelligent conversation. And a delicious morning coffee!
