Potential quarterback trade candidate for Pittsburgh Steelers ruled out

Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis is not on the trade block. President of Football Operations Chad Brinker vehemently denied the idea that Levis was even available for trade.

Josina Anderson reported the team wanted to move on from Levis, citing the NFL Draft as a mechanism to look at the quarterbacks, such as Miami’s Cam Ward.

“That’s a false report. We have not contacted anybody, and nobody has contacted us about Will Levis. … The plan with Will Levis is that he has a chance to compete for a starting job next year, just like every player on our roster. It’s no different for Will.I see him in our facility, he’s working hard. Everybody knows he’s a great kid, he’s a hard worker, and he’s going to give it everything he has. We’re going to continue to work with Will Levis," Brinker said.

Levis struggled mightily in his first full season as a starter. He dealt with an AC Joint sprain in his shoulder, and Mason Rudolph played over him at times. In 12 starts, Levis went 2-10, throwing for 2091 yards with 13 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

Levis is not the current regime’s quarterback, which always adds another layer to these discussions. It seems likely that even if Levis is not traded, the Titans could select Ward, ousting Levis from the starting quarterback job.
