Matheus Cunha has just handed Newcastle United a major transfer boost.
Cunha is reportedly on Newcastle United’s transfer radar ahead of what could well be a big summer for the club.
Indeed, Newcastle think they have money to spend this summer and are no doubt looking to build on their stunning Carabao Cup win earlier this month.
Newcastle are interested in Cunha, who has been a shining light in an otherwise difficult season for Wolverhampton Wanderers, albeit one that now looks safe from a real relegation battle.
Cunha has been sending social media messages to Joelinton, raising hope they could reunite from the Brazil squad into the Newcastle set-up alongside fellow compatriot Bruno Guimaraes.
Arsenal have also been linked with Cunha, who has scored 13 goals while registering four assists in 26 Premier League appearances this season.
Now, the 25-year-old has offered a major indication about his future to the clubs wishing to sign him this summer.

Matheus Cunha confirms he wants to leave Wolves amid Newcastle United transfer interest
Speaking to The Guardian, Cunha has confirmed he wants to leave Wolves at the end of the season.

The player revealed he did have offers to do so in January but didn’t want to leave the Molineux club during what was then a relegation battle.
However, having almost achieved their goal of staying up this season, Cunha is now ready to move to a club challenging for bigger prizes.
Whether that’s Newcastle or not remains to be seen of course but he was clear in his desire to leave.
“I had a lot of offers but I wouldn’t feel well if I had done it,” he said. “Some things you can’t control but I couldn’t leave the club in the middle of the season, in a difficult situation, in the relegation zone.
“Now, we’re close to achieving our goal [of staying up]. But I’ve made it clear that I need to take the next step. I want to fight for titles, for big things. I have potential.”
Matheus Cunha release clause latest amid Newcastle United transfer interest
Helpfully for Newcastle, Cunha is believed to have a release clause in his Wolves contract.
Cunha’s release clause is worth £62.5million, so the price has already been set without the need for club-to-club negotiations.
Still, that can also be said for all the other clubs interested in the former Atletico Madrid player.
Alexander Isak is Newcastle’s record signing at £63million, meaning Cunha would instantly become the second-most expensive player in the club’s history if he were to sign at that price.
