According to Romanian outlet Pro Sport, Liverpool have “entered the race” to sign Rayo Vallecano man Andrei Ratiu.
The 26-year-old is also being monitored by Barcelona and Real Madrid, with Villarreal still holding 50% of his rights.
The report describes Ratiu as being in “good form” and suggests that he has a chance for a “super transfer” this summer.
Any club looking to sign him will have to pay his £21m release clause.
With Alexander-Arnold’s departure looking likely, Liverpool will be linked to multiple right-backs in the coming months.
But as Pro Sport points out, Ratiu would be “a step up” from his current club and could be an interesting option.
