After winning three consecutive games, the San Antonio Spurs have now lost three straight contests. With a record of 31-42, the Spurs host the Golden State Warriors at the Frost Bank Center on the second night of a back-to-back.

Last night, San Antonio was able to hang with the Boston Celtics but ultimately lost by a final count of 121-111. The Spurs were led by Keldon Johnson, who played really well off the bench and had a team-high 23 points.

The Warriors, who have a record of 42-31, have played really well since acquiring Jimmy Butler. Since their trade with the Miami Heat, Golden State has a record of 17-5. Before the Butler deal, the Warriors were floundering with a record of 25-26.

Currently, Golden State and the Los Angeles Clippers are tied for the sixth seed in the Western Conference. A top six seed would be important for the Warriors because that means they could avoid the play-in tournament.

The Spurs, on the other hand, are the 13th seed in the West. They trail the Sacramento Kings by three and a half games for the final spot in the play-in tournament.

San Antonio Spurs Injury Update

There’s some good news on the injury report for the Spurs. Charles Bassey, who hasn’t played since February 23rd, is expected to be available to play tonight against the Warriors. Overall, the center has played only two games since February 3rd due to a pair of knee injuries.

Golden State Warriors Injury Update

The Warriors will be without Gary Payton II, who is out multiple weeks due to a torn ligament in his thumb. In better news for Golden State, Stephen Curry is listed as probable. He recently suffered an injury to his pelvis after taking a hard fall.

On the season, Curry is averaging 24.1 points, 6.0 assists and 4.3 rebounds in 32.2 minutes per game. The 37-year-old is shooting 44.4% from the field, 39.2% from three-point range and 92.6% at the free throw line.

Betting Guide: Spurs vs. Warriors

The Warriors are favored by 11.5 points and the over/under is 230.5 points. The smart money is on the over. The Spurs have played well offensively lately. While their defense has shown slight improvement lately, they are still one of the worst teams in the league on that end of the court. With the Warriors desperate to solidify their playoff positioning, expect a high scoring affair.
