MORGANTOWN, W.Va (WDTV) - WVU Men’s Basketball Senior Javon Small has declared for the 2025 NBA Draft. Small announced his decision to end his college basketball career Saturday on his Instagram profile.
Small began his college career in 2021 for East Carolina. After two seasons in Greenville, N.C. Small transferred to Oklahoma State.
After averaging 15 points per game in Stillwater, Small took his talents to Morgantown in 2024.
Despite WVU missing the NCAA Tournament, Small was the vocal point of the Mountaineers offense in 2024-25. The guard from South Bend, IN averaged a career high 18.6 points per game with WVU and was named first team All-Big 12. This is part of his statement he released on Instagram Saturday.
“First off, I wanna thank God for everything he has done done in my life and for his continual blessings. To my friends, teammates, coaches, and everyone else who has been part of my journey, I appreciate you more than you know and none of this would be possible without y’all. I was blessed to have the opportunity to play at Eastern Carolina University, Oklahoma State, and West Virginia and that is something I’ll cherish forever. We all have dreams and I’m ready to pursue mine. Therefore, I will be declaring for the 2025 NBA Draft.”
