The Los Angeles Clippers are among the handful of teams battling for a playoff spot in the Western Conference, and a big reason why they are in the hunt is because of star guard James Harden. On Sunday, the longtime superstar made some unique NBA history that caught the attention of fans.
With his partner-in-crime Kawhi Leonard missing a big chunk of the season, Harden has had to shoulder a bigger burden for the Clippers to keep them afloat. In a way, Harden's strong season has flown under the radar, and he admitted that he doesn't think he gets enough credit for continuing to deliver the goods on a nightly basis.
"I don't feel like I get enough credit for the work that I put in. People want to talk about everything else … but honestly the work is being put in," Harden said to Overtime recently.
It hasn't stopped Harden from going out and producing, though, as he's led the Clippers to a 42-31 record heading into their Sunday afternoon contest against the Cleveland Cavaliers. And during this game, Harden rewrote the NBA record books by completing his 118th four-point play, which is the most in NBA history.
"James Harden just completed his 118th career regular season 4-point play (fouled on made 3-pointer + made the free throw). He has the most completed 4-point plays in NBA history and continues to add to his total," Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints noted in a post on X.

Through 70 games this season, Harden has enjoyed a nice bounce-back campaign, averaging 22.5 points, 8.6 assists, and 5.8 rebounds per game while shooting 40% from the field.
Los Angeles has battled the top-seed in the East hard on Sunday, as they entered halftime trailing 68-64 to Cleveland. Harden has enjoyed a nice start to the game, dropping 12 points, hauling in five rebounds, and dishing out three assists.
