After reaching the playoffs on the back of a 10-7 record in back-to-back seasons, the Houston Texans weren’t afraid to mix up the roster this offseason. Their biggest departure was trading five-time Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil to the Washington Commanders, leaving a large void to protect C.J. Stroud‘s blindside.
However, the Texans did sign former Jacksonville Jaguars and Minnesota Vikings left tackle Cam Robinson to a one-year, $12 million contract. However, a one-year deal is not a long-term solution. The Texans could look to solve their long-term needs in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Teams fill short-term needs in free agency, but when it comes to solving weaknesses for the long run, there’s no better solution than the NFL Draft. That’s where the Houston Texans could use the 25th overall pick in the first round on a tackle prospect.
Specifically, Sportskeeda’s Tony Pauline suggests the Texans have been “all over” University of Texas offensive line prospect Kelvin Banks Jr. Banks is viewed as a likely candidate to become a first-round draft selection.
“In my report on Tuesday’s pro day at Texas, I mentioned offensive lineman Kelvin Banks looked outstanding in position drills. Now comes word the Houston Texans have been all over Banks and shadowed him during the workout. The question is will Banks be available when they are called to the clock with the 25th pick? That answer is unlikely. “

Pauline goes on to question whether the Texans like Banks enough to trade up for him instead of waiting and seeing if he’s still available at their scheduled selection.
