With the second pick in the 2025 NFL draft and a clear need for a starting-level quarterback for this season and beyond, the Cleveland Browns have been the topic of a lot of rumors this offseason. We shared our most recent rumor update with a month remaining until the NFL draft and then QB Kirk Cousins visited the area but, reportedly, was not here for football reasons.
QB Cam Ward has been the assumed top pick in the upcoming draft, with DE Abdul Carter seen as the only other option, despite WR/CB Travis Hunter being the highest-graded prospect in this class. Many rumors state that the Browns are high on Ward, but that could all be pre-draft smoke.
Speaking at the NFL owners’ meeting, Cleveland GM Andrew Berry all but closed the door on the idea of the Browns trading up one spot with the Tennessee Titans:
Andrew Berry said it’s unlikely they’ll be trading up to No. 1 for Cam Ward

Unsurprising, given the rumors of what the Titans would be asking for anyone to move up to the first pick (it is a lot).
It also shouldn’t be surprising that Berry was not so quick to rule out the idea of the Browns trading down:
On potentially trading back, Berry said: “We’re pretty much open to anything that can be advantageous to us.” https://t.co/yUBK9DYli6

The New York Giants could be interested in moving up to draft QB Shedeur Sanders, while the New England Patriots could have their eyes on Hunter or Carter. One or both trades would keep Cleveland in the top five of this year’s draft while adding more picks or players to their roster.
Do you believe Berry that trading up to #1 is off the table? How far down do you think the Browns should be willing to trade?
