Tetairoa McMillan’s Draft Stock in Jeopardy After Alarming Social Media Video Surfaces

When you're projected to be one a first-round pick in the NFL draft, almost everything you do leading up to the big day is thrown under the microscope and scrutinized. Whether it's past game film, tape from workouts, or comments in interviews, coaches, general managers, and fans will break it down and formulate an opinion on it.

For Arizona Wildcats wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan, who is projected to be one of the top receivers off of the board this April, a video that started circulating on social media of him talking about his dislike of football is painting a poor picture ahead of the draft.

In the video, McMillan claims that he "doesn't watch football" and isn't a fan of watching film, either.

When asked if it's hard to watch film without liking to watch football, McMillan gives a concerning answer.

"I don't like watching film either," McMillan said. "I don't ever need to watch it by myself because we go over it as a receiver group."

Arizona WR and potential top 10 pick Tet McMillian says he doesn't like football or watching film. Adds he never watches it on his own.

Is this concerning to you or no big deal?

Despite his apparent dislike for both watching football and studying film, McMillan was one of the best receivers in all of college football throughout his career with the Wildcats. The former high-end 4-star recruit totaled 3,423 yards and 26 touchdowns on 213 catches in his three years in Tucson. His best season came in 2023 when he had 90 catches for 1,419 yards and 10 touchdowns.

In Mel Kiper's latest mock draft on ESPN, McMillan is selected by the Denver Broncos with the No. 20 overall pick, the first WR off the board outside of Colorado's Travis Hunter, a WR/CB combo. There are many other mock drafts out there that have McMillan going inside the top 10 picks.

With the video starting to circulate on social media, a lot of NFL fans had a similar reaction to the revelation about McMillan's love for the game. In essence, a lot of fans said "no thank you."

"No NFL team should draft a guy that doesn't watch film," one fan said. "You will not be a good player in the NFL if you don't."

"Don't care how long ago this was..he's UNDRAFTABLE," another fan added.

"#Jets please stay as far away from this guy at 7 as possible. Pleaseeeeeee," a Jets fan commented.

Whether NFL teams will see this video and allow it to impact their draft strategy or not is yet to be seen. However, it is undoubtedly not a great look a few weeks out from the draft.
