The Dallas Mavericks will face the Brooklyn Nets on Monday, looking to continue their late-season push for a play-in spot. This will be the second meeting between the teams, with the first marking the return of Anthony Davis from an adductor strain that sidelined him for 18 games.
Davis, who was acquired in a blockbuster trade that sent Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers, has played just four games in a Mavericks jersey due to injury. His absence proved costly, as Dallas slipped from the sixth seed in the Western Conference to 11th, falling out of the play-in tournament picture. Injuries to Kyrie Irving and Daniel Gafford further compounded their struggles.
However, since Davis' return, the Mavericks have gone 3-1, with their only loss coming against the New York Knicks in a game where Davis was rested on the second night of a back-to-back. Their latest win, a 120-119 thriller over the Chicago Bulls on Sunday, propelled them to the ninth seed, just ahead of the Sacramento Kings (10th) and 2.5 games clear of the Phoenix Suns (11th).
Ahead of Monday's matchup against Brooklyn, the Mavericks announced via their official injury report that Davis is probable to play.

In his first game back against the Nets, Davis put up 12 points, six rebounds, and three assists in a 120-101 win. He followed that up with 15 points and seven rebounds against Orlando, and 18 points, seven rebounds, and five assists in the victory over Chicago.
The Mavericks are now 4-0 when Davis plays, and his availability will be crucial as Dallas continues its push for the postseason.
