Pittsburgh Steelers have no timeline set for Aaron Rodgers’ decision: ‘Not to my knowledge’

PALM BEACH, Fla. -- The Pittsburgh Steelers do not have a set deadline for Aaron Rodgers to make a decision, and Pittsburgh is not sweating Rodgers’ long proces.s

Head coach Mike Tomlin told the media on Sunday that while the team would like to have things set by the NFL Draft, there is no need to rush Rodgers.

“Not to my knowledge. I don’t know that we’ve approached it from a deadline perspective. Certainly, as I mentioned, you’d like to have settled circumstances, but deadlines don’t often bring that to a head,” Tomlin said.

Tomlin added the team’s draft plans will not be affected by their pursuit of Rodgers, who they view as a viable option. Yet, even if they land someone else, they have those things formalized.

“Our draft plans are our draft plans. Right now, just information gathering and getting to know the whole field, I’d imagine that focus and those details are narrow as we get close, but we’re a pretty decent distance away from some of that narrowing,” Tomlin said.

The Rodgers push will continue, and there is still zero timeline for when he will decide. His three options include the Steelers, retirement, or simply waiting it out. Yet, the Steelers do not seem to be pushing for him to decide anytime soon.
