NFL teams have less than a month to prepare for the 2025 NFL Draft, as it gets started on Thursday, April 24, from Green Bay. There are many NFL players that some teams might be high on, that other teams aren’t near as interested. The 2025 quarterback class has some wildcards in it, with former Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe being one of the most hotly debated players.
Some NFL teams look at him as only a running threat, and are hesitant on whether they believe he can be a legitimate starting NFL quarterback. However, there are other teams that think he can be a very good player.
Jordan Schultz is an NFL insider for FOX Sports, and he speaks with NFL personnel all the time getting insight. He spoke with an anonymous assistant general manager who is very high on Milroe, and said the narrative on Milroe being able to only run is off.
“He’s one of the most intriguing guys in the entire draft. There’s a narrative that he’s just a running quarterback, but that’s way off… His deep ball can be a major weapon at the next level. I’ve watched him a lot — he’s very capable in the pocket and carves up zone defenses well. There’s a lot to work with, and I like the kid,” the NFL assistant GM told Schultz.

Cam Ward is expected to go No. 1 to the Tennessee Titans, and Shedeur Sanders is looked at as the No. 2 quarterback in this year’s class.
However, after that, there are a few candidates that could be in the running for the next couple of quarterbacks drafted. All it takes is 1 team to like a player, and there are teams that do like Milroe. The Pittsburgh Steelers have been rumored to be a team interested in Milroe, but expect the Alabama quarterback to be talked about a lot in the next month.
