Xi Jinping Sends Message of Condolence to Myanmar's Leader Min Aung Hlaing over the Earthquake Hitting Myanmar

On March 29, 2025, President Xi Jinping sent a message of condolence to Myanmar's leader Min Aung Hlaing over the earthquake that hit the country.

Xi Jinping said he was shocked to learn of the strong earthquake in Myanmar, which caused heavy casualties and property losses. On behalf of the Chinese government and people, Xi Jinping extended deep condolences over the death of the victims and sincere sympathy to the bereaved families, the injured and the people affected by the disaster. China and Myanmar, as a community with a shared future, go through thick and thin together, and the two peoples enjoy a profound "pauk-phaw" friendship. China is ready to provide Myanmar with the necessary assistance to support the people in the quake-hit areas in overcoming the disaster and rebuilding their homes at an early date.

On the same day, Premier Li Qiang of the State Council sent a message of condolence to Min Aung Hlaing over the earthquake that hit the country.
