NBA Forward Approaching Suspension After Ejection on Sunday

In an eight-game NBA slate on Sunday, the final one of the day was the Houston Rockets facing the Phoenix Suns.

The Rockets took a comfortable 78-49 lead into halftime in a lopsided first half.

With just under five minutes to go in the first half, things got extra chippy between the two teams.

Suns star Kevin Durant got tangled up with Rockets forward Dillon Brooks, leading to technical fouls for multiple players.

Technical fouls were assessed to Durant and Suns teammate Nick Richards. On the other hand, Brooks received a pair of technicals that prompted him to be ejected from the game.

Brooks played just 11 minutes in the game before being ejected, and he scored eight points with a rebound and an assist.

As it turns out, Brooks is now one technical foul away from receiving a one-game suspension by the NBA.

"Status alert: Dillon Brooks was assessed 15th technical foul. If he receives another, he'll be automatically suspended one game," the Underdog NBA account posted.

Brooks fouled Durant as the Suns star drove to the hoop, then said something to Richards before walking away.

However, he proceeded to express his frustration to the officials, which led to another technical being called.

The Rockets entered Sunday night in second place in the Western Conference and with just seven regular season games remaining.

If Brooks gets one more technical foul, he will be suspended for one game, per the NBA rule. For every two additional technical fouls received, he would be suspended another game.

The Rockets face the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday, followed by the Utah Jazz and Oklahoma City Thunder.
