Suns Dealt Unfortunate Kevin Durant Blow During Rockets Game

Things got from bad to worse for the Phoenix Suns on Sunday night. The Suns were in the midst of an embarrassing blowout loss on their own home floor against the Houston Rockets, and things took a major turn for the worse after Kevin Durant was forced to exit the game in the third quarter.

Durant rolled his left ankle pretty badly as he attempted to drive to the basket. The former NBA MVP stepped on Jabari Smith Jr.'s foot and ended up suffering a nasty-looking injury.

The 15-time All-Star immediately collapsed to the floor after rolling his ankle.

Durant was able to walk to the bench on his own, but he was limping pretty badly. It was later revealed that he had to head to the locker room shortly after the play in order for the medical team to assess his injury.

It did not take long for the Suns to provide an official update on Durant's status for the game. Unsurprisingly, the 36-year-old was quickly ruled out for the remainder of the contest, as reported by Underdog NBA on X.

The severity of Durant's injury is currently unknown, but he will certainly be undergoing tests to determine the same. At this point, Suns fans have no other choice but to hope and pray that the injury is not as bad as it looked.

Phoenix is well on its way to its third straight loss, which will see them drop to 35-40 on the season. They remain 11th in the Western Conference and are still fighting for a spot in the Play-In tournament.
