Eddie Howe, one of the stars of the show at Saturday’s Town Moor event in celebration of the Carabao Cup triumph, was as classy as ever, showing his immense appreciation not just for the fans in attendance, but also the staff who helped his team achieve glory.
From senior club officials to long-tenured backroom staff, Howe took the time to ensure more than just the players had appreciation shown their way.
Howe, universally regarded for his class and consideration, made sure that a good moment of the Carabao Cup celebration was dedicated to members of his team whose off the pitch efforts could not be understated.
Wishing “a big thank you” to everyone in attendance, Howe reeled off names of just a few of the on-stage staff members who have given years of service to the club.
“So first, I’d like to thank the staff who work incredibly hard. We’ve got the likes of Tony Toward, who’s been here for so long, give Tony a round of applause! He does a brilliant job and he’s done it so long.”
Joining Toward was Kit men (of 36 years!) Ray Thompson and Neil Stoker, Groundsman Mick Curran, Doctor Paul Catterson, Conditioning Coach Nick Grantham and Player Liaison Officer Glen Patterson amongst others, all described as “brilliant people” by Howe as he made sure all got their moment.
Special mentions were given to Performance Director James Bunce, widely credited for keeping the squad fit and fighting during the gruelling campaign so far, and Darren Eales, who looks to set to depart the club in the near future as Chief Executive Officer.

He may not be that loud, in your face character who would want much of the limelight, but Howe spoke so well when taking the mic on the Town Moor stage in front of 150,000 fans.
The boss spoke with passion, pride, emotion and excitement, showing great leadership to insist that several of his backroom team – from kit men to doctors – got their moment of applause and thanks.
Just watch this clip below, where Howe also insisted on all of the above lifting the trophy!
