Callum Hudson-Odoi shares big difference between Nuno Espirito Santo, his Chelsea managers and…

Callum Hudson-Odoi has squeezed a lot into such a short career even before his transfer to Nottingham Forest.

The Reds have welcomed the winger to the club with open arms, with the player enduring a couple of rotten seasons at Stamford Bridge.

Hudson-Odoi cost Forest £3 million from Chelsea and he’s made a complete mockery of that transfer fee since his arrival on Trentside.

A serious Achilles injury hampered his progress with the Blues and ultimately, in the summer of 2023, they decided the time was right to cash in.

Initially signing for Steve Cooper, Hudson-Odoi scored on his Forest debut and he’s not looked back ever since that point, becoming one of Nuno Espirito Santo’s top stars.

Callum Hudson-Odoi shares what he loves about Nuno Espirito Santo

The 24-year-old has had some very important moments since arriving at Forest and it all boils down to Espirito Santo.

Although it was clear why Cooper chose to sign him, given that he was part of the England under-17 team that won the World Cup in 2017, it’s under the current boss where he’s kicked on.

Hudson-Odoi has had some very high-profile bosses in the past, with Maurizio Sarri, Frank Lampard, Thomas Tuchel and Xabi Alonso all overseeing his development.

He’s now been quizzed by Sky Sports News on how Espirito Santo differs from the other managers he’s had during his career.

He said: “With Nuno, compared to the other managers, it’s more the trust and belief. The faith that he has in every player in the squad, he gives me that confidence and belief to go on the pitch, be myself and show everyone why he gives me that confidence and belief.

“For me, personally, knowing what I can do to help the team helps me massively, that’s most important for me, having that consistency and freedom to go on the pitch and play my game.”
