Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford scored twice to fire Aston Villa into the FA Cup semi-final
Alejandro Garnacho was among the Man United players to offer support to loanee Marcus Rashford after his match-winning display for Aston Villa.
Manchester United star Alejandro Garnacho sent Marcus Rashford a message of support after the loanee opened his Aston Villa account as he fired them into the FA Cup semi-final.
The 27-year-old inspired their progression, booking a place at Wembley in the process, with his double to beat Championship side Preston North End. Rashford expertly finished from Lucas Digne's cut-back before converting a penalty to double the tally.
It continues an impressive redemption for the England international, who returned to the Three Lions fold after an inclusion in Thomas Tuchel's squad. His double ended the wait to score his first goals for the Midlands club following a good start to his loan spell at Villa Park.
In a post on Instagram, he wrote: "I am buzzing to finally get my first Villa goals and help the team progress to the semi finals.
"Happy Mother’s Day & Eid Mubarak to everybody around the world celebrating." Among the commenters was Garnacho who replied with a nod to Rashford's head-point celebration using two emojis.
Villa boss Unai Emery has already began fielding questions over the attacker's future. Speaking after booking their place at Wembley, he said: "Not yet. The most important thing is the challenge now and this afternoon, recovering and then preparing for the match against Brighton tomorrow.
"Still there are a lot of matches to play. If we are in the Champions League, if we are in the Europa League, if we are in the European Conference League or not in Europe or winning a trophy, it is completely different.
"A decision about each individual players… it is to get the best of them and the best of us. We don’t want to waste time thinking about it."
