[Despite an excellent first half, after which Bournemouth held a 1-0 advantage, City came back to win 2-1, controlling the second half to send them through to the semifinals at Wembley.](https://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/25049136.afc-bournemouth-beaten-2-1-manchester-city-fa-cup/)
The Daily Echo rates the Cherries players in their cup defeat.
**Kepa Arrizabalaga: 5**
A game of two halves for Kepa, which largely summed up the team’s performance. Some first half heroics saw the Spaniard save an Erling Haaland penalty, and he seemed comfortable and in control of everything that the visitors threw at him. But Kepa was not as assured in the second half, and made a mistake for the second City goal, which he should be doing better for.

Soler was making his second start for the Cherries and I thought he looked energetic and positive. A tough job for the 20-year-old dealing with the City right flank, but he did well before he was replaced at 1-1.
**Marcos Senesi: 7**
Senesi was good on his return from injury – he looked assured and comfortable, and for him to play 85 minutes was impressive. His positioning was good, too, to make two goal line clearances in the second half.
**Illia Zabarnyi: 6**
A solid performance from the Ukrainian at centre back but like most in the second half, he looked uncomfortable at times as City gained control of the tie.
**Lewis Cook: 6**
Cook was good in the first half, but, as above, he struggled in the second. He was guilty at times of being poorly positioned which gave City more space on their left, which is where they found space to create both their goals.
_(Image: Richard Crease)_ **Ryan Christie: 6**
As with much of the team, Christie was excellent in the first half, playing a leading role in the Cherries press that brought its rewards. But after the break, energy levels dipped and the press, of which Christie is such an important part, was nowhere close to the levels of the first.
**Tyler Adams: 6**
As with Christie, the American is a crucial part of the Cherries press and was good in the first half, but when the press stopped functioning in the second, he was unable to impose himself on the game as much and was unable to control the game as well in the second half as he did the first.
**Antoine Semenyo: 5**
A poor game from Semenyo by his high standards. He had a couple of glimpses going forward in the first half but was poor in the second, and his mistake in going to ground for the second goal gave the ball away to City. Semenyo didn’t give Cook as much support as he needed to after he switched to the right wing and City found lots of joy on the Cherries right.
**Justin Kluivert: 7**
The Dutchman was central to much of what was good from the Cherries in the first half and continued to try to get them going in the second.
_(Image: Richard Crease)_ **David Brooks: 6**
A wonderful cross for Kluivert to set up the first goal was the highlight of Brooks’ afternoon, before he was replaced shortly before the hour mark.
**Evanilson: 7**
A good performance from Evanilson, getting the goal in the first half and generally threatening City. As with Kluivert, he continued to try to inject some energy into the Cherries press in the second half but lacked the support, particularly when running in behind and trying to get Bournemouth going forward.
