Arsenal v Fulham prediction

Arsenal return to action on Tuesday night for their first game in over two weeks as they welcome Fulham to the Emirates Stadium for a London derby in the Premier League.

Mikel Arteta's side head into the tie unbeaten in their last five matches in all competitions, but have only picked up victories in two of those games, with their league record of just one win in their last four outings leaving them 12 points off the top of the table.

The hunt for a first Premier League title in 21 years seems out of reach now with only nine games of the season reaming to make up those 12 points, with the main aim now just keeping hold of second place, where they currently have a four point lead over Nottingham Forest.

The Gunners have lost only once at home in the league all season, with only league leaders Liverpool having won more points at home this campaign, though that defeat did come just two home games ago against West Ham, their first in a run of five consecutive home league London derbies, of which the third takes place on Tuesday.

Fulham make the short trip across to London on Tuesday night for their third consecutive London derby, and will be looking to get back to winning ways after missing out on an FA Cup semi final on Saturday lunchtime after being beaten 3-0 at home by Crystal Palace.

The defeat followed a 2-0 home win over Tottenham in their last league outing, which gives them four wins in their last six Premier League matches ahead of their midweek game, and leaves them in a promising position of eighth place in the league.

Marco Silva's side sit only three points off fifth-placed Manchester City, who occupy what is expected to be a bonus Champions League spot with the Premier League seemingly all but certain of having a fifth team in next season's premier European competition.

The Cottagers make the trip to the Emirates having won five of their last six matches away from home in all competitions dating back to mid-January, though their most recent outing on the road did end in defeat against Brighton on the Sussex coast.

The west London side had lost eight of their last nine matches against Arsenal prior to the start of last season, but have since gone unbeaten in their last three matches against the Gunners, even securing their first win over them since 2012 with their win at the Cottage last season.

Arsenal will be well rested following their extended break from action due to the international break and not being in the FA Cup, while Fulham's confidence will likely be damaged after a heavy home defeat followed their elongated time off.

The Gunners have never in their history been beaten at home by Fulham in any competition, and I expect that run to continue beyond this week following a 2-1 home win for the north London side on Tuesday night.

Arsenal v Fulham bet builder

Arsenal to win, Martin Odegaard to assist, Ethan Nwaneri to have 2+ shots on target - 8/1 with Parimatch

The Gunners have never lost at home against Fulham and will be will rested after more than two weeks since their last match.

Only the injured Bukayo Saka has bagged more assists for Arsenal in all competitions this season than Martin Odegaard, who secured his eighth of the season in the Gunners' last outing, creating the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win over fierce London rivals Chelsea.

Injuries to Arsenal's attackers has left 18-year-old Ethan Nwaneri to start several of the Gunners' fixtures in recent months, and eight goals in just 12 starts for the teenager leaves him as Arsenal's third highest scorer this season, and even even scored on his first England U21 start last week.
