Liverpool have a number of injury concerns for the Merseyside derby Premier League showdown against Everton at Anfield on Wednesday.

The Reds are aiming to bounce back from their Champions League exit to Paris Saint-Germain and Carabao Cup final defeat to Newcastle United.

Despite recent struggles in the cup competitions, Arne Slot’s men more or less already have this season’s Premier League title wrapped up.

Liverpool currently sit top of the table with 12-point lead over second-placed Arsenal with just nine top-flight fixtures remaining.

Next up for Liverpool is a clash with their city rivals Everton, who have been transformed under the management of David Moyes in recent months.

The Toffees, 15th in the Premier League table, are unbeaten across their last nine top-flight games, which included a 2-2 draw with Liverpool in February thanks to a 98th-minute equaliser from James Tarkowski.

Everton’s last four Premier League games have all ended in draws, though, with Moyes’ side hoping to get back to winning ways against their rivals.

In terms of team news, Liverpool’s No.1 goalkeeper Alisson Becker is a doubt after he was sent home from international duty early, suffering a concussion in Brazil’s win over Colombia.

That could see Caoimhin Kelleher start in goal on Wednesday while midfielder Ryan Gravenberch is expected to be available after pulling out of the Netherlands squad as a precaution.

Joe Gomez will miss the clash with Everton, with the Liverpool defender ruled out until at least the end of April after recently having an operation on his hamstring injury.

Jarell Quansah may continue at right-back for Liverpool if Conor Bradley’s still not quite ready to make his return from injury.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is set to join Real Madrid in the summer as a free agent, is also ruled out for the Merseyside derby.

Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo is back from injury and is set to take over up front, with Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez likely to be named on the bench.

Everton, meanwhile, have Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Dwight McNeil and Ilman Ndiaye all close to being available again following their respective injuries.

The Toffees will be without Vitalii Mykolenko, though, who suffered a thigh injury on international duty for Ukraine.
