Alejandro Garnacho's message to Marcus Rashford after Man United loanee scores twice for Aston Villa

Marcus Rashford seems to be enjoying his football at Aston Villa after choosing to leave Manchester United over the winter.

There were already concerns over Marcus Rashford’s attitude at Manchester United before Ruben Amorim’s arrival as head coach.

Under Amorim, Rashford was frozen out of the team with the Portuguese manager criticising his effort in training.

Eventually, Rashford left on loan to Aston Villa for the remainder of the season, and a £40m buy option in the summer suggests he may never return to Old Trafford.

Rashford has impressed at Villa, but it took him a while to get his name back on the scoresheet. Against Preston, two goals came in the span of five minutes.

Marcus Rashford sent Villa back to Wembley by scoring twice in a 3-0 win over Preston in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

United fans weren’t impressed by Rashford and still can’t see a route back to playing under Amorim, but the 27-year-old does appear to be happier and growing in confidence again.

After the match, Rashford took to Instagram with a post that read: “I am buzzing to finally get my first Villa goals and help the team progress to the semi-finals.

“Happy Mother’s Day & Eid Mubarak to everybody around the world celebrating.”

In the comments section, Rashford’s former United teammate Alejandro Garnacho was quick to respond with two emojis that symbolise Rashford’s trademark celebration.

The post was also liked by a host of Rashford’s former teammates including Lisandro Martinez, Diogo Dalot and Amad Diallo.

There has been a noticeable lack of replies from United stars under Rashford’s posts at Villa, but there was a big show of support after he opened his scoring account.

What Marcus Rashford said after shining for Aston Villa

After a tough few months, Rashford has enjoyed a successful few weeks with England and Villa.

Rashford was recalled by Thomas Tuchel to the England squad and he started against Latvia and Albania over the March break.

He then returned to Villa and opened his goalscoring account for the club. After the 3-0 victory, Rashford told BBC Sport: “It’s a great feeling. I feel like I’m slowly getting fitter and playing better football since being here.

“We have to take it one game at a time and give 100 percent on the pitch and we’ll see where it takes us but we’re a very ambitious team. We want to win, we want to get as far as we can in all competitions and we want to get back into the top four.

“Step by step, I think I can still get fitter. I missed a lot of football before joining up with them so at the minute my body feels good and I’m enjoying my football.”
