Ter Stegen trains with Barca team for first time since knee surgery

Barcelona confirmed on Monday that goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen was back training with the first-team once again after his long lay-off with a knee injury.

Ter Stegen took part in some of the training session at the Ciutat Esportiva in what’s another step forward for the Germany international.

The goalkeeper has been out of action since undergoing knee sugery back in September but has been hoping to return before the end of the season.

That is now looking more and more likely, with Ter Stegen closing in on a return to action after a really nasty injury.

The German star’s recovery does appear to be going really well but it remains to be seen when we’ll see him back in Barcelona colours.

Flick currently has Wojciech Szczęsny as his first choice and will be in no rush to replace the Polish veteran.

Szczesny has now made 18 appearances for Barcelona in all competitions and is still yet to taste defeat for the Catalan giants.
