Warriors Help NBA Make History Not Seen in 55 Years

There were three major blowouts in the NBA's slate of Sunday games. It was the Golden State Warriors who led the way with a 148-106 victory over the San Antonio Spurs.

No. 1 overall pick Zaccharie Risacher then led the Atlanta Hawks to a 145-124 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks with a career-high 36-point explosion.

The Houston Rockets also took care of business in impressive fashion as they took down the Phoenix Suns in a road game at PHX Arena, 148-109.

Thanks to the combined effort by the Warriors, the Hawks and the Rockets, Sunday marked the first time in over five decades that three teams scored at least 145 points on the same day.

Warriors fans were happy to see their team secure an easy victory against a hapless Spurs side that is quickly falling out of the race for a Play-In spot in the Western Conference.

It was sophomore shooting guard Brandin Podziemski who led the charge for Golden State with a 27-point eruption on seven triples. That's now back-to-back wins for the Warriors, who are currently sixth in the conference with a 43-31 record. They are, however, just two games behind the Los Angeles Lakers (45-29) for the No. 4 seed in the West.

It wasn't all good news for the Warriors on Sunday, though. Rising star Jonathan Kuminga was forced to exit the game and was unable to return after re-injuring the same right ankle that cost him 31 games on the sidelines earlier in the season.

Golden State is expected to provide a clearer update on Kuminga's status moving forward come Monday.
