Isak and Mateta the best captain alternatives to Salah for Gameweek 30

Alexander Isak (£9.3m) and Jean-Philippe Mateta (£7.5m) have both the form and fixture to rival Mohamed Salah (£13.7m) for the captaincy in Gameweek 30 of Fantasy Premier League.

After breaking the ALL-TIME points record for a single season in his previous outing, Salah is expected to be the runaway captaincy pick for Liverpool's home encounter with Everton.

The Egyptian has blanked just once at home all season and produced a goal, an assist and 13 points in the reverse fixture as recently as Double Gameweek 24.

Salah’s haul at Goodison Park is one of 17 double-figure returns he has delivered on his way to 306 points. Allied with his ridiculous consistency at Anfield, he remains the No 1 captain choice for Gameweek 30.

Better fixtures for Isak and Mateta?

Newcastle United’s Isak and Crystal Palace’s Mateta also have very favourable fixtures, facing Brentford and Southampton respectively.

Isak‘s home form is particularly appealing here. Across his last seven appearances at St James’ Park, the Swede has averaged 9.0 points per match (ppm), thanks to seven goals and three assists.

Mateta, meanwhile, was the standout forward in Fantasy prior to his recent short spell on the sidelines due to an ear injury.

The Eagles star has blanked just ONCE over his last eight league outings, producing eight goals and an assist at an average of 8.0 ppm.

Marmoush the standout differential?

Similarly to Mateta, AFC Bournemouth’s Justin Kluivert (£6.3m) and Manchester City’s Omar Marmoush (£7.3m) also face promoted clubs.

Kluivert’s penalty duties add to his appeal for the Cherries’ home meeting with Ipswich Town.

He has delivered five double-figure hauls on his way to fifth place in the midfield standings, claiming massive 20+ point returns on two occasions.

Marmoush, meanwhile, could be set to start up front against Leicester City at the Etihad Stadium if Erling Haaland (£14.8m) is ruled out through injury.

The Egyptian, owned by 14 per cent of managers, carries momentum into Wednesday’s match, having scored Man City’s winner against Bournemouth in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Sunday afternoon.

Marmoush has produced two double-figure hauls in his seven outings for Pep Guardiola’s side, including a goal, an assist and 12 points at home to Brighton & Hove Albion last time out.
