Strikes from Kerstin Casparij and Vivianne Miedema helped City to a 2-1 triumph over Brighton at the Broadfield Stadium.
The first half was full of action at both ends of the pitch, but it was Casparij who broke the deadlock when the Dutch defender calmly slotted home to send us ahead.
Despite a second 45 unfolding in the same manner, it took until the 90th minute for either side to find the net with Miedema doubling City’s lead.
It looked as if City would also record a clean sheet, but on the cusp of full-time Charlize Rule clawed Brighton back into it.
Brighton continued to look for an equaliser but Rule’s goal could only act as a consolation for the Seagulls.
It means we remain fourth in the WSL table on 35 and move within seven points of Manchester United and Arsenal.
