'I think'... Joe Thomas makes very interesting Everton prediction involving Leeds United

Everton are set to appoint Leeds United CEO Angus Kinnear.

Angus Kinnear will make the switch to Everton at the end of the season as the Friedkin Group restructure the board and recruitment team.

The Friedkin’s have identified recruitment as a major issue which needs addressing, as they’re set to let Kevin Thelwell depart.

Head of Academy recruitment James Vaughan is also leaving Goodison Park, so clearly, there will be some fresh hires over the coming weeks and months.

And, with that said, Liverpool Echo journalist Joe Thomas has just made an interesting prediction involving Everton and Leeds United.

Everton may sign more Leeds chiefs

Speaking on the Royal Blue podcast, Joe Thomas has predicted more Leeds chiefs will follow Angus Kinnear to Everton.

“Obviously, Angus Kinnear is already making the journey across from Leeds to become the new CEO at Everton at the end of the season,” Thomas explained.

“And I don’t think the links with Leeds are going to end there. Obviously, having someone who’s worked with him, mainly over transfers.

“I think he’s been doing a bit of a freelance consultancy kind of role over recent times. And yeah, I think that, well, we know that when people move over to different clubs, they like to have people that they trust and people they trust tend to be people that they’ve worked with in the past. So I don’t think that will be the end of links that we see to Leeds either.”

Everton eyeing Nicky Hammond and Gary Penrice

As Thomas alluded to, it seems there is an expectancy that Leeds chiefs Nicky Hammond and Gary Penrice will join Everton.

Kinnear wants Hammond and Penrice at Everton after their impressive recruitment in the Championship.

Hammond would join as an adviser whilst Penrice is regarded as one of the best talent spotters in the second tier.

However, it’s understood that Moyes wants two of his former West Ham colleagues instead, so there’s already a disagreement that’ll need resolving.
