Alexander Isak looked pretty happy to be a Newcastle United player as he lifted the Carabao Cup in front of hundreds of thousands of fans.
The 25-year-old scored at Wembley in the Carabao Cup final to double Newcastle United’s lead and two weeks later, Alexander Isak was lifting silverware above his head on an open-top bus parade.
Over 250,000 Newcastle fans lined the streets to cheer them on and it gave Isak a glimpse of Newcastle’s bright future if he stays put on Tyneside.
Isak has been linked with a Newcastle exit with Arsenal fans repeatedly insisting that the Swede will end up in North London in the summer. But Isak’s Geordie impression and beaming smile at the Town Moor celebrations suggest he’s fairly happy where he is.

Arsenal prepared to abandon Alexander Isak pursuit
Despite Arsenal’s heavy interest in Isak, he was never up for sale. Isak is adored by PIF and Newcastle chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan.
Arsenal would have had to put mind-boggling money on the table just to catch Newcastle United’s attention, and it seems the message has finally gotten through.
The Gunners are still on the lookout for a star striker this summer, but it seems their attention has finally turned elsewhere.

According to The Athletic, Arsenal have a growing interest in Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres as he is seen as a more “realistic” target than Isak.
It comes despite Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta being a “huge fan” of Isak. The London side have finally decided that they cannot follow Arteta’s dreams so will have to look elsewhere.
Will Alexander Isak sign a new contract at Newcastle United?
The reason Newcastle have been so confident in keeping their star striker is because Isak has a contract valid until 2028.
Newcastle have held talks over a potential extension, but the plan now is for Isak to be offered a new contract in the summer.
In order to get a deal over the line, Newcastle are prepared to break the wage bill for Isak, making him the club’s highest-paid player.

But Isak also wants Champions League football so finishing in the top five this season has become even more important.
There should be a growing confidence at Newcastle that Isak will commit his future to the club, especially after proving that they can win major trophies.
