The confirmed Man Utd team news to face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
Manchester United will have five players back when they face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Tuesday night, but Luke Shaw is still not available for selection. Ruben Amorim issued an update on his squad ahead of their midweek trip to the City Ground and confirmed the encouraging team news for the coming weeks.
Leny Yoro and Harry Maguire will both be available for selection after their recent injury setbacks, while Altay Bayindir and Tom Heaton are also expected to be in contention to make the bench. Patrick Dorgu will also be available after he served a three-match domestic ban before the March international break, though the game will come too soon for Shaw. Chido Obi will not be considered for selection due to his involvement with the U18s in the FA Youth Cup semi-final tonight.
Amorim also issued updates on the other injured players, with Ayden Heaven and Kobbie Mainoo among those who could return to action in the coming weeks. This is what Amorim had to say about his United squad ahead of their trip to face Forest on Tuesday night.
Manchester United team news ahead of Forest
Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Monday afternoon, Ruben Amorim issued an update on his Manchester United team ahead of their trip to face Nottingham Forest.
“Luke is not ready yet, we are starting doing some drills with the team but we are building Luke,” he said. “Mason Mount is feeling better, but he was on the bench in the last game. Kobbie is almost ready, Jonny is recovering, Licha is out. Maguire is also ready to go to the game and Yoro, yes.”
United suffered another injury scare ahead of the international break when teenage defender Ayden Heaven was stretchered off in their 3-0 victory away at Leicester. The 18-year-old was spotted wearing a protective boot over the international break, but Amorim is confident his recent injury issue is not a serious problem. He added: “It is not so serious. He is recovering, he is not yet ready to play but he will return this season, for sure.”
