HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 31 (ACN) Two of the four Cuban collaborators who were injured last week in the province of Moxico, in Angola, are since Sunday in Luanda under the care of professionals from the Meditex clinic.
The day before the transfer was carried out by air, with the collaboration of the National Institute of Medical Emergencies and other institutions, with a view to keeping an even closer follow-up of the evolution of the women, Prensa Latina reported.
One of them is still reported as very serious, although she remains stable and with vital parameters within the normal range; the second one, reported as care, had a favorable evolution on Sunday.
The other two collaborators who were involved in a traffic accident last Tuesday in the city of Luena have already been discharged.
On Sunday, the Cuban ambassador to Angola, Oscar Leon, along with the executive president of the corporation Antex S.A., Carlos Martinez, and the vice president of Antex for Angola, Ernesto Gutierrez, visited the patients at the Meditex clinic.
The general director of the institution, Mario Delgado, and the specialists in charge of the follow-up, explained the evolution and the medical treatment.
According to the source, the accident occurred when the bus that was transporting the employees from the Instituto Superior Polytechnic of Moxico, where they were teaching, was hit by the train at the level crossing.
As soon as the accident became known, the Angolan authorities, together with the Cuban medical brigade in the territory, quickly transferred the Cuban specialists and other injured persons to the General Hospital of Moxico.
