As the 2025 NFL Draft approaches, Shedeur Sanders, the talented quarterback from the Colorado Buffaloes, finds himself at the center of NFL executives' discussions. While many expect him to be a first-round pick, where exactly will Sanders land? ESPN's Jeremy Fowler recently shared key insights on SportsCenter that reveal just how divisive Sanders' draft stock is among NFL teams.
Shedeur Sanders is widely regarded as the second-best quarterback in a weak class, but his spot in the top three isn't guaranteed. Fowler explained that while teams like the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants are considering him, there's still no certainty. "From what I'm hearing, the Browns at two, the Giants at three have Shedeur Sanders at least in consideration," said Fowler. However, the Browns may lean toward pass rusher Abdul Carter, while the Giants, despite needing a long-term QB, might not feel the urgency to pick Sanders early.
Fowler reached out to a number of trusted personnel people for their evaluations of Sanders, and the responses were far from unanimous. "Four of those people said no" when asked if Sanders was a first-round talent, Fowler revealed. While some see him as a potential mid-to-late first-round pick, others feel his value has been inflated, especially given the lack of elite QB prospects in this draft.

If Sanders slides out of the top five, teams like the Las Vegas Raiders at No. 6 and the New Orleans Saints at No. 9 could be potential landing spots. Both are reportedly intrigued by Sanders' potential, especially if they look to develop him behind more experienced quarterbacks like Geno Smith or Derek Carr. However, Fowler notes that "it only takes one team to see something special" in Sanders, which could trigger a trade-up to snatch him before he falls further down.

While many expect Sanders to be a first-round pick, his draft fate remains uncertain. As teams evaluate his talent, the question still looms: Will Shedeur Sanders make the jump into the top-tier of this draft, or will he slip further than expected? Fans of the Colorado Buffaloes will be watching closely as the draft unfolds.
